Grooming with Purpose: Our Partnership with Humane Animal Rescue
We’re incredibly proud to share that Uncanny Animals has partnered with Humane Animal Rescue as part of their Paws & Support initiative — providing professional grooming services to pets in need.
At both UA and HAR, we understand that life can throw unexpected challenges - but no one should ever have to choose between caring for themselves and caring for their beloved pet!
What we truly love about HAR, and what makes them so unique in the rescue space, is their Proactive Rescue Model. It’s not just about stepping in during crisis, but about supporting families before it gets to that point. By offering help early, they empower people to keep the pets they love, rather than being forced to surrender them due to hardship. And in turn, prevents rescues and shelters from filling up with pets that are already so loved!
What is Paws & Support?
The Paws & Support program by Humane Animal Rescue is designed to help pet owners experiencing hardship access essential care for their animals — including veterinary support, supplies, behavioural and training assistance… and grooming (that’s where we come in ✂️).
For many families, pets are everything. But during challenging times, the cost of care can become overwhelming. This initiative steps in to ensure pets don’t go without the services they need to stay healthy, comfortable, and safely in their homes — and that their humans aren’t left going without, simply because they’re putting their pet first.
Uncanny Animals is proud to be part of the grooming branch of this initiative, offering completely judgement-free access to professional grooming for eligible pets.
How to Apply
Pet owners can apply directly through Humane Animal Rescue, where each application is thoughtfully assessed and matched with the appropriate support services.

How You Can Support Humane Animal Rescue
Humane Animal Rescue is a 100% volunteer-run, not-for-profit charity, and unfortunately currently receives no government funding. Programs like Paws & Support only exist because of the generosity of the community.
