Annie Nolan

Head Groomer & Director (She/Her)

I was initially trained through leading Australian Dog Grooming School, Dog Diversity, where I also began my career working as staff. I was mentored by industry leader Nat West and competition winning groomer Taylan Bradley.

I am a Certified Creative Grooming Expert (2021) and Specialist (2020) with Internationally renowned company and organisation, Opawz. I have had my grooms featured in top publications like ifashion.pet. I'm also a Internationally Certified Fear-Free Groomer. I'm currently undertaking International Grooming Certification recognition in both cat and dog grooming through the International Pet Groomers Inc of which I am a member.

Animals have been a deep passion and driving force in my life since I was a a young child growing up in rural Victoria surrounded by farm animals!

I have extensive experience with a broad rage of domestic animals - from cats and dogs, to bunnies, guinea pigs, rats, house pigs and ferrets!

Throughout my life I’ve always pursued improving the welfare of animals and encouraging human connection with animals. I was a vegetarian at eight years of age, and became vegan when I became an adult. This is why my salon only uses vegan and cruelty-free products, as I believe that grooming animals should not come at the cost of other animals.

I respect the "rules" of traditional grooming, but my flair and passion is for creative grooming as well as difficult "behavioural cases." I try to see each unique pet through the eyes of their beloved owner, accentuate their features and do what works best for the animal.

My aspirations are to educate people on the benefits of grooming and help further the connection between humans and animals.

In my "other life" I work online, have a decent following on social media (@uncannyannieblog), a successful podcast called We Want To Be Better in which I also tour doing Stand-Up Comedy. I'm also a wife, and a mother of three humans and five animals!

Manager (He/Him)
Liam PIcken

Liam has gone from working with "the dogs" to working with dogs! Previously working as an AFL footballer, Liam climbed the highest heights being a key member of the 2016 drought-breaking Western Bulldogs Premiership side.

Liam has a Masters Degree in finance and after football was working in corporate finance.

However, Liam has thrown off his suit for a life covered in cat hair, joining forces with his wife (Annie) to embrace their love of animals.

Maddie Crick

Maddie is our queen of the big dogs and the double coated breeds! She thrives when de-shedding or groom-out a coat. Maddie is also the resident pet chef of “Uncanny Cafe”, which you can make orders through for cakes, cupcakes and cookies. Maddie has two sweet border collies called “Alfie” and “Piper” and an elderly kitty called “Lilly.”

Shakira has many qualifications and years of grooming experience under her belt, including a Certificate III in Animal Studies and Pet Grooming, and 3 years cattery experience. Additionally, Shakira has a diploma in Graphic Design - an artistic eye that helps her groom!

Shakira is a superstar with the fluffy, curly haired breeds (yes, a master of the “teddy bear cut") and a natural affinity with cats.

At home Shakira has two cheeky felines - a Calico girl named “Pepper” and a grey and white boy called “Charlie”
